Comparison of Stone-plastic Floor SPC and Wood-plastic Floor WPC


1. Total thickness  -- Most intuitively, WPC flooring usually will be thicker than SPC vinyl flooring. The thickness of wood-plastic composite flooring is generally between 5mm and 8mm, while the thickness of SPC composite flooring is generally between 3.5mm and 6mm.

2. Ingredients and Comfort --Due to the rigid core of the structure, the WPC vinyl will be softer than the SPC vinyl. The WPC base layer is mainly composed of vinyl resin and wood powder. It uses a foaming agent at the core to give it a cushion. SPC base layer is a combination of resin powder and stone powder, which makes the SPC vinyl floor a stronger, and with an added liner, the SPC floor will also have a softer feel under the feet.

3.Temperature resistance --SPC vinyl flooring Its stone rock powder base layer is the same as mineral rock, has good thermal conductivity and thermal stability, is very suitable for floor heating, and reaches a certain temperature, releasing heat evenly. Its substrate has a flexible rebound layer, and the wear layer on the surface enables effective insulation.It also have better frost resistance than WPC vinyl. Back to the core structure, SPC vinyl's stone-like composition and dense structure make it less easy to move than WPC vinyl flooring.

4. Stability-- Stone-based SPC vinyl that will give the floor a superior anti-dent performance compared to WPC vinyl. WPC vinyl is also resistant to dents, however, it is a softer floor structure that does not have elasticity. Due to this factor, SPC vinyl flooring will be the best choice for commercial applications.

5. Production process and price -- The most subjective topic, the price is different. SPC floor is extruded from the extruder with T-die to extrude the PVC substrate, and the three-roll or four-roll calender is used to respectively wear the PVC wear-resistant layer, PVC color film and PVC substrate, and heat-fit and emboss the product once. The process is simple, the fit is done by heat, and no glue is needed. So the price will be cheaper than WPC. Different features, such as additional substrates or special wear layers will be at different prices.

Installation method of SPC Floating Vinyl Floor

1. First check the floor, put the tenoned side against the wall, and an expansion joint of 8-12mm should be left between the floor and the wall.
2. The first floor of the second row is installed on the long side as follows, insert the tenon of the floor to be laid into the groove of the first row of floors, and lift the floor slightly at an angle of 15-25 degrees until the joint position, down Flatten the floor to make it tightly engaged.
3. Like other floors, the floor that continues to be laid should be wedged in the correct position as described above in the longitudinal direction.
4. When wedging in the longitudinal direction, the distance between the front of the plate and the front piece of the plate should be as small as possible, and then use the hammer plate to hit the short edge horizontally to make them join together, and the specially designed lock will automatically buckle.

Maintenance of SPC Click Flooring

1. Regular vacuuming and regular floor cleaning will keep the floor beautiful and durable.
2. Do not use cleaning products containing surfactants or residues.
3. Use small upholstery carpets at all entrances and use non-rubber door mats outside the door.
4. Do not use ammonia-containing products for cleaning products, wax-based polishing / cleaning agents, strong acid or alkaline cleaning agents, chlorine-based products, bleach, solvents, etc.
5. Do not roll or slide furniture or appliances on the floor.
6. Avoid pets scratching the floor, high heels may cause depressions on the floor.
